Toronto consulting firm Watts, Griffis & McOuat and its Russian partner, Almazy Rossia-Sakha, will tour the Russian diamond region of Sakha (formerly Yakutia) from May 23 to June 2.
Seminars, case studies and site visits will cover all aspects of diamond production from exploration theory to sorting (in preparation for shipping to Moscow).
The tour, which will include a visit to Mirny, centre of the Russian diamond industry, will cost US$10,000.
Geologists and engineers at Watts, Griffis have consulted in more than 70 countries in the past 30 years; the firm has consulted in Russia during the past three years. Almazy has been producing diamonds for more than 35 years.
