LETTERS TO THE EDITOR — Northern lands and northerners

I have been a subscriber to The Northern Miner for more than 30 years (and my late brother Nial was a subscriber before that). Personally, I have been engaged in prospecting and mining and am now active in the supply of communications in Canada and overseas to mining, forestry and agricultural projects.

It has saddened me to see The Miner slide into so many political aspects of a great industry and to publicly support M.R. Brown’s views (on aboriginals, for example). These views belong to eras long gone.

I have spent time in the Arctic regions and been enlightened by the wonderful people there. Recent moves to give title to them for their own land at least brings some pride to a Canadian who fought for these freedoms. Manus Wilson
