NEWS ROUNDUP — Zinc showings at Leeds project

Summer exploration work at the Leeds property near Thetford Mines, Que., delimited a quasi-continuous outcrop zone of dolomite marble that extends for more than one kilometre, Noranda Exploration and Ressources Minieres Coleraine (ME) report.

A discovery in 1991 of zinc mineralization grading 6.19% in a unit of dolomite marble led to Noranda optioning the property from Coleraine. The companies say that most surface grab samples obtained this summer from the zone assayed 0.3-3% zinc. In addition, assays of 7.5% and 12% zinc were obtained from two new showings that occur 450 metres apart within the same horizon.
