An increase in copper and zinc prices as well a jump in metal production helped Granges (TSE) report a profit of $1.9 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 1992.
Revenues jumped to $17.6 million in the quarter, up from $13.4 million in the second quarter of 1991.
Gold production from the company’s Crofoot/Lewis mine in Nevada, and from its 29% interest in the Trout Lake mine in Manitoba, totalled 56,514 oz., up from 52,387 oz. a year earlier.
Silver production jumped to 143,982 oz., compared with 45,462 oz. in the same period last year, as a result of a jump in silver grade at Crofoot/Lewis. The company’s share of copper and zinc production from Trout Lake totalled 1.94 million lb. and 8.64 million lb. respectively for the second quarter. Copper production represents a jump of 14% from the 1.7 million lb. produced in 1991 while zinc production is up 77% from 4.9 million lb.
