A panel of experts will address such issues as market cycles and reserves replacement on Jan. 21, 1993, at a mineral economics symposium hosted by the Mineral Economics Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.

Speakers at the meeting, which is sponsored by The Northern Miner, include Metall Mining President Klaus Zeitler, Aur Resources President James Gill and Tatshenshini Wild executive director Ric Careless. “Mining 2001: A Canadian Odyssey” will be held at Toronto’s Hilton Hotel.

A similar symposium, titled “Facing the Issues Head On,” will highlight land-use policy, environmental initiatives, labor issues and competitiveness at the Jan. 25, 1993, Cordilleran Roundup in Vancouver. Federal Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources Jake Epp and Teck Corp. Chairman Norman Keevil will speak on the topic of international competitiveness.
