An additional 10,000 ft. of reverse circulation drilling was recently started at the La Blanca property in Chihuahua, Mexico.
War Eagle Mining (VSE), owner of the property, is attempting to further define potential reserves in three separate target areas on the property. The drilling will attempt to expand reserves in the Upper River zone, previously estimated at about six million tons grading 0.013 oz. gold and 4.76 oz. silver per ton.
The River zone measures about 660 ft. along its east-west strike extent, about 300 ft. in width, and has been tested downdip to a depth of about 300 ft. Drilling will test both the east and west strike extents of the zone. Five angle holes are also planned to test for additional zones lying parallel and to the north of the River zone.
Previous drilling to the north of the Upper River zone intersected three separate zones, with the best hole returning 240 ft. from 10 ft. to 250 ft. grading 0.018 oz. gold and 5.24 oz. silver.
The company plans to drill 14 holes on the Lower River area to further test a zone of silver-gold mineralization intersected by holes 2, 12, 16 and 18. Hole 12 intersected 230 ft. from 105 ft. to 335 ft. grading 0.022 oz. gold and 7.24 oz. silver.
War Eagle believes the Lower River zones holds the greatest tonnage potential with the zone open in all directions including to depth.
