Obituary Theo Parr

Theo Parr, retired vice-president and director of Ingersoll-Rand Canada, died in Cuernavaca, Mexico, March 7. He was 84. Throughout his career, Parr actively promoted the sale of indus0000,0600 trial equipment to the mining, construction, petroleum and manufacturing sectors of Canadian business.

Born in Manitoba, Parr attended St. John’s College and the Uni versity of Manitoba. He then lived in Thornhill, Ont., and joined Ingersoll-Rand in 1927.

Parr was a member of many business associations, including The Canadian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy (he was a former president of the Toronto chapter), The American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers, The Alberta Northwest Territories Chamber of Mines and Resources and The Engineers’ Club of Toronto.
