The Obed thermal coal mine near Hinton, Alta., has been sold to Edmonton- based Luscar Ltd. The mine was owned 93.4% by Unocal Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Unocal (NYSE), and 6.6% by Norcen Energy Resources (TSE). Luscar refused to disclose the purchase price.
