Great Northern hits

A recent drill program in Garrison Twp., Ont., by Great Northern Gold (ASE) and Winteroad Resources (COATS) was successful in cutting at least one high-grade gold value. The companies report that hole 9 intersected 0.49 oz. gold per ton over a 1-ft. interval in a shear zone containing visible gold. Eight other exploration holes cut anomalous but uneconomic values (0.004-5 oz.) in a highly silicified breccia with about 15% pyrite and pyrrhotite. The companies, along with their consultants Derry Michener, Booth and Wahl of Toronto, are in the process of reviewing the drill data from the $300,000 program. Subject to the availability of funding, a second phase of drilling to determine the extent of a northwest trending gold zone on the Winteroad prospect could begin next month.
