Five holes tested geophysical anomalies and two other holes tested the depth extension of a known zinc-silver occurrence as part of a drilling program at the Montgay property 55 km northeast of Val d’Or, Que., Ressources William (ME) reports. The drilling was undertaken by William’s partner on the project, Billiton Resources Canada. William, recently listed on the Montreal Exchange, was formed by the amalgamation of publicly traded Halex Resources and Ressources William, then privately owned.
William says holes 89-3 and 89-7 confirmed the extension of the zinc- silver zone to a vertical depth of 420 metres. The zone is open at depth and along strike below the 100-metre level.
The other five holes tested targets that lie more than one kilometre from the known mineralization. None had significant assay results, William says.
William and Billiton each owns 37.5% in six claims of the property; Claude Resources (TSE) owns the remaining 25%. William and Billiton each owns 50% of the remaining 32 claims. Billiton may increase its interest up to 51% in the six claims, and up to 66.7% in the 32 claims, by spending a total of $750,000 on exploration work by April 30, 1992. The drilling results included: Length Zn Ag Au Hole (m) (%) (g/t) (g/t) 89-3 0.3 5.69 332.6 0.57 0.9 2.58 20.6 0.50 3.0 0.81 9.0 0.50 3.1 2.95 51.6 0.50 89-7 0.9 16.10 220.1 0.50 1.0 3.90 44.9 0.50
