Sparton Resources (TSE) and Freewest Resources (ME) are starting a drill program on their jointly optioned claims near Helena Lake, 35 miles north of Fort Frances, Ont. The drill program will test a geophysical anomaly that is associated with a gold showing. In 1988, trenching exposed gold mineralization in quartz-carbonate bands. Assays from a 4.1-ft. chip sample were 3 oz. gold per ton. Visible gold was also seen in several samples in the trench.
