Because R-8 is providing high grade values over appreciable widths in an area near existing workings, Newhawk is optimistic the structure will provide a boost in reserves that could be the deciding factor to a positive production decision.
The R-8 zone is still open in all directions and is believed to possibly be related to the adjacent UTC zone which also returned high grade gold an d silver va lues.
According to President Don McLeod, the current drill program is verifying the continuity of the West zone at and below the 1200 level.
