Bitech says it has encountered anomalous copper sulphide mineralization consisting of pyrite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite along with minor amounts of galena. Grab samples collected from three sites near some old test pits yielded 3.92% copper, 12.35 g silver per tonne and 1.49 g gold. Soil samples collected along strike yielded highs of 6,000 parts per million (ppm) copper, 197 ppm nickel and 37 parts per billion gold.
A gossan zone on the shoreline returned 2.13% copper, 0.21% nickel, 7.89 g silver, and 0.67 g gold in a grab sample.
The 28-claim property was explored previously by four shallow adits and limited diamond drilling in three holes. The current exploration program is focusing on an 800-m long quartz-sulphide horizon along the contact between mafic and felsic volcanic rocks. The property is on the southwest extension of the Betts Cove ophiolite belt of rocks.
