First Canadian Gold Corp., which is controlled by Aur Resources, posted a gain of 25 cents before closing at $1.30 on moderate volume. First Canadian holds a 9% net profits royalty in three claims including Aur’s producing Kierens gold mine in Malartic Twp., Que. At Dec 31, 1988, First Canadian had working capital of $1.1 million. The company also holds a 10% net profits interest in three Vassan Twp. claims owned by Falconbridge.
Craibbe-Fletcher Gold, a company with claims nearby the producing Campbell Mine at Red Lake, Ont., was active this week with 27,000 shares trading in the 28-32 cents range. Craibbe closed down 1 cents at 32 cents . Another Red Lake area claimholder, Jamie Frontier Resources, saw 131,500 of its shares trade hands in a single transaction. The issue remained unchanged at 5 cents .
Still awaiting drill results from its Lac St. Jean copper-nickel prospect is McNickel Resources. It was unchanged at $3.00. Plummeting 50 cents this week was Force Resources. The company owns a platinum- palladium-gold property in Nevada. Advancing 25 cents to close at 60 cents was Strike Minerals. The company has been exploring gold claims in Baden Twp., 20 km northeast of Matachewan in the Larder Lake district of Ontario.
