Aur plans to release results by the batch

Based on the results of seven widely spaced drill holes, operator Aur estimates that a 6.5-million-ton orebody is buried about 1,500 ft below the disputed Louvicourt Twp. property.

With four drill rigs currently on site, Aur is currently exploring up dip from a previously unexplored horizon which yielded high grade copper-zinc-gold mineralization.

While similar results to the ones released three weeks ago could double the potential size of the deposit to around 15 million tons, Aur Vice- president Howard Stockford says future drill results will be released in batches. Some results may be available this week.

“We won’t announce any more holes until we have a group to release,” said Stockford who is taking charge of a $1-million phase two program.

Because the company is attempting to delineate the deposit by drilling both inside and outside the mineralized area, Stockford said it could be misleading to release results on a hole-by-hole basis.

Reached by phone at Aur’s exploration office in Val d’Or, Stockford said it is taking about a week to drill each hole and another week to assay the core.

The sheer size of the property, which spans 8,300 acres, and depth of the holes may slow things up, according to Stockford. Of the four drills on site, three are drilling for up dip extensions of the deposit and one is being used to do gyro surveys.

The gyro surveys are designed to determine at what point within the massive sulphides, the hole is located.
