The program, expected to be completed by the end of June, is designed to build reserves in the main mine area, the No 4 intrusive plug and the No 2 zone. Based on a review of data compiled by Teck, the project operator, Tundra estimates the property has reserves of 1.7 million tons grading 0.20 oz gold per ton. This includes reserves of 970,000 tons grading 0.18 oz gold per ton which were outlined by Tundra’s 1988 program in the No 4 plug.
According to Tundra’s consultant, the 1989 drill program has the potential to increase reserves to the five-million-ton range. Lamaque is a former gold producer located near Val d’Or, Que.
