An exploration campaign has been started up by Robex Resources (ME) and Aylmer Mines on the Lac Arthur property located in Dalquier Twp. in northwestern Quebec.
The companies may earn up to a combined 70% interest in the property from Raymor Resources (ASE) by spending $5 million on exploration work before March, 1993. The companies must spend $1.5 million prior to March, 1989, to earn a 43% interest; subsequently, Robex and Aylmer may increase their interest if Raymor elects not to participate in such programs.
The current program consists of line cutting, stripping and sampling, as well as a re-examination of the drill core obtained from past operations, including that of Mon-Dor Exploration. The program will include 10,000 ft of drilling.
A major gold-bearing structure, the A zone, has been outlined on the property; the zone’s strike length exceeds 1,000 ft and has an average width of 6.5 ft. Drilling has returned mineralization containing gold, silver and zinc.
In other news, a Robex-related company, Veinor Resources (ME), announces it, too, has commenced an exploration program at its Maritime-Cadillac gold property in northwestern Quebec.
The company says recent exploration work on the property, which straddles the Cadillac fault, led to the discovery of a gold-bearing zone which has been outlined along one km. The zone was uncovered following a drilling program of 17 holes representing 11,640 ft, along the extension of the gold-bearing structure being developed by Novamin Inc. about 2,600 ft to the northwest, the company reports.
