Eastmain drill program starts

A $225,000 flow-through share placement completed by Eastmain Resources (TSE) will fund exploration on properties held 100% by the company in the East main area of northern Quebec.

Drilling is scheduled to begin shortly which will test three targets. The first is defined by a basal till anomaly with gold values ranging up to 3,000 parts per billion. Another area, located 700 ft from a road, includes several outcrops which yielded grab samples assaying up to 5 oz gold per ton. A chip sample averaged 2 oz per ton across 1.7 ft.

Drilling will also examine an area which was previously drilled for base metals in the early 1970s. Core from that program assayed anomalous gold values, Eastmain says.
