A tonnage calculation is being made by Ego Resources (TSE) for the company’s west main zone gold deposit near Wawa, Ont. Discovered in January, the find has been the subject of in-fill drilling which has generated enough data with which to complete a reserve estimate.
More than 33,000 ft of diamond drilling has been completed by the company since October, 1987. The work has tested several gold-bearing structures which strike across the claims. Northeast of the west main zone, a drill hole has cut a new mineralized zone in a previously untested part of the property. The hole intersected 6 ft grading 1.16 oz gold per ton.
Based on results to date, the company says that an underground program is possible sometime this fall. Ego holds a 100% interest in the property.
