A block of 32 claims in the Kenora, Ont., gold belt has been acquired by Colby Resources, the company says.
The block is located between two claim blocks under development by the Echo Bay/Nuinsco joint venture in the area, and adjoining both the east and west sides of the Colby property.
President M. McCormick says the claims have numerous gold showings covering a geological setting similar to that of the adjoining ground.
He said a Colby engineer will examine the property, review all geological data and previous exploration results to plan a program leading to selection of drilling targets. Work is expected to start on the property by about mid-May.
