General News & Comment Porcupine runners will relive gold rush

For those who missed the original Porcupine Gold Rush, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada is offering local athletes the chance to relive history.

Organizers of the fourth Annual Great Porcupine Gold Rush Triathalon promise that the Aug 2 event at Porcupine, Ont., will be just as challenging as a gold rush. Beginning at 9 a.m., participants will canoe, cycle and run along the 55-km route of the Porcupine Trail from Kelso to Porcupine Camp. The event is part of Timmins’ 75th anniversary celebrations.
