Six out of 15 diamond drill holes completed by Noranda Exploration on its Grew Creek property near Faro, Yukon, show significant gold values. Golden Nevada Resources and Brenda Mines are also involved in the joint venture.
Some of the higher grade intercepts included: 5 ft of 0.49 oz gold, 5 ft grading 0.43 oz, 5 ft of 0.37 oz and 5 ft averaging 0.2 oz. The remaining gold-bearing intercepts ranged from 9.9 ft of 0.11-oz gold to 5 ft grading 0.17 oz.
One drill is attempting to block out reserves in the Main zone and define its strike and down-dip limits. A second drill has been moved from there to the Tarn which is approximately 6,500 ft along strike to the southeast. Its alternation features are similar to the main zone.
An IP survey completed between the zones will help identify additional drill targets. Prime Explorations is providing management and consulting services to Golden Nevada for the Grew Creek property. Noranda is operator, however.
