Danish firm Carl Nielsen reports two years of field and laboratory work has proven up more than three million tons of ore in a zirconium- rare earth elements deposit in southwest Greenland.
The company calls the deposit unique in that the ore is eudialyte, an acid-soluble silicate, with a significant content of about 4% yttrium, niobium and rare earth elements.
A large bulk sample has been shipped to Copenhagen for pilot work. Nielsen says it has finalized talks with prospective joint-venture partners in Denmark and abroad.
