Williams & Wilson of Scarborough, Ont., which has been manufacturing furnaces for nearly 50 years, has made a number of technical improvements to its assay furnaces. The company’s latest furnaces are equipped with solid-state, automatic temperature controls and high-quality refractory and insulation materials to ensure consistently uniform temperature distribution and non-metallic silicon carbide heating elements which operate at low wattage (20 kW) for extended life.
The furnaces operate at a temperature of 1,274 degrees C.
Heating elements can be replaced without affecting the furnaces brickwork and without fully cooling down the furnace.
