More than 20 holes, representing in excess of 10,000 ft, have been drilled to date on the snip gold prospect in the Ikut River area of B.C., Delaware Resources reports. The first-phase drilling has consisted of widely spaced step-outs up to 2,500 ft from last year’s drilling. The holes were planned to test soil geochemical and structural targets. Mineralized zones and structures have been encountered which are similar in appearance to those identified last year, the company reports.
The split core is being processed on site with the pulps shipped to Cominco Ltd.’s laboratory in Vancouver for geochemical analysis. Anomalous samples are being fire assayed for gold. Results are awaited.
Second-phase drilling on the property will consist of definition drilling to establish continuity and reserve potential for the mineralized zones identified last year and any new zones encountered during this year’s reconnaissance drilling.
