Faraway and Equity renew B.C. drilling

A drill program has started on the Sam silver property held by Faraway Gold Mines. The program will follow up results from two mineralized zones which yielded strong silver assays in previous drill programs.

The 20,000-ft program is being performed with the co-operation of Equity Silver Mines which owns a mill two miles from the Sam property, near Houston, B.C. Faraway’s property hosts geology similar to that occurring on the Equity mine site.

Results from previous drilling include hole 4 which cut a 1-m section grading 12.7 oz silver per ton from a shallow depth. A precussion drill hole returned 6.1 m assaying 3.9 oz silver. The drilling focused on a 200-m-wide zone striking for 350 m, the partners say. As in the Equity deposit, the Sam assays also carry copper values ranging from 0.15%-0.45%.
