Rock Congress

The Canadian Rock Mechanics Association, together with the hosts and co-sponsors, the CIM and the Canadian Geotechnical Society, is preparing to host the Sixth International Congress on Rock Mechanics.

The event will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Aug 31 Sept 3.

The sixth congress will focus on four themes: the fluid flow and waste isolation in rock masses, rock foundations and slopes, rock blasting and excavation and underground openings in overstressed rock.

Each theme will begin with a 45-minute presentation by a rock mechanics engineer.

A trade show will also be held in conjunction with this congress. It will provide an opportunity for suppliers, distributors and service organizations to meet and discuss products and services with the key decision makers in rock mechanics.

For more information on the congress call Ivana, CIM Information Officer at (514) 842-3461.
