Cornucopia to drill Arizona gold bet

A production decision is expected by the end of this year on a gold property it holds northwest of Phoenix, Ariz., according to Cornucopia Gold Mines.

A reverse circulation drill program to expand reserves is due to start soon on the property, which consists of 107 unpatented lode mining claims covering about 2,211 acres. A feasibility study would follow, and the production decision, Cornucopia says.

President Irwin Singer notes that previous work on the property, which covers the Clementine mine, established open pit reserves of about 500,000 tons averaging about 0.10 oz gold per ton.

Mr Singer adds that at the recent annual meeting, the company’s name was changed to Valley View Gold Mines, at the request of the Alberta Stock Exchange.
