Quebec Explorers’ underground drilling could boost reserves

Quebec Explorers plans to spend $1.3 million for exploration aimed at increasing reserves on its Dubuisson Twp. property in northwestern Quebec from 440,000 tons grading 0.21 oz gold per ton already identified.

Cogesco Mining Resources will increase its interest in the property to 25.5% as a result of putting up the money.

Current reserves are outlined above the 690-ft horizon. Work already completed includes dewatering and rehabilitating the exploration ramp and the 105-m level.

About 200 m of crosscutting and drifting is under way on the 105-m level to establish 3-4 underground drilling stations 100 m north of the old workings. About 7,600 m of underground drilling will be completed.

Drilling this season will test the established ore zone east of the decline to a depth of 1,755 ft where previous surface drilling intersected 0.48 oz over 3.3 ft.
