A decision has been made to build a 350-ton-per-day mill at the Bell Creek gold property near Timmins, Ont. Operated by Canamax Resources and partner Consolidated CSA Minerals, the new mine is expected to be in production by year-end, Canamax says. Capital costs are estimated at $5.2 million.
Initial production will be on a custom milling basis whereas gold production from the new mill is expected to begin by early October, 1987, a Canamax spokesman tells The Northern Miner.
Annual production of approximately 22,000 oz of gold will be shared equally by the partners. For Canamax, the gold production will represent its first since the company’s formation as a major explorer in 1982. CSA is an affiliate of Timmins-based gold miner Pamour Inc.
