WO find delivers few stones

Last fall’s discovery of a lake-covered kimberlite on the WO claim block in the Lac de Gras area of the Northwest Territories has yielded just two microdiamonds from a small, 34.65-kg representative drill core sample.

Archon Minerals (ACS-V) discovered the WO9 kimberlite while drill-testing a low-gravity target from the shoreline. Angled at minus 47, the discovery hole intercepted 38.7 metres of crater facies kimberlite before shutting down while still in kimberlite at a down-hole depth of 87 metres.

Archon is gearing up to begin a drill program on the WO block in March. One or more holes will test the new kimberlite discovery, in addition to seven remaining high-priority Falcon geophysical targets.

The WQ claims are held 38.47% by BHP Billiton (BHP-N), 28.8% by DHK Diamonds, 16.47% by Archon, 9.75% by Aber Diamond (ABZ-T) and 6.5% by SouthernEra Resources (SUF-T). DHK Diamonds is a private company owned equally by Dentonia Resources (DTA-V), Horseshoe Gold Mining (HSX-V) and Kettle River Resources (KN-V).
