Cordilleran syndicate stakes more ground

A trio of companies, including Franc-Or Resources (FOR-T), is exploring for gold and silver mineralization in Humboldt Cty., north-central Nevada, where the projected extentions of the Battle Mountain and Valmy mineral corridors intersect.

Dubbed Humboldt Springs, the 12-sq.-km property was recently staked on the basis of preliminary geophysical and geochemical surveying. This marks the joint venture’s fifth acquisition in the Silver State.

The group is targeting a valley measuring 6,000 ft. long by 1,500 ft. wide and which carries anomalous gold and silver in the alluvial, lacustrine and volcanic fill. The sedimentary cover is 200-900 ft. thick, below which is believed to sit a basement horst structure.

Geophysical and geochemical studies continue, in preparation for reverse-circulation drilling. So far, no drilling has been carried out.

Franc-Or has a 42.5% stake in the joint venture, as does Australian-based Ranger Minerals. A privately owned, Reno-based company holds the remainder. This is the group’s fifth acquisition in the Silver State.
