Golden Goose drills Magino

Quebec-based Golden Goose Resources (ggr-v) will launch a small drill program at its Magino project near Wawa, Ont.

The 18-hole, 2,700-metre program will test three zones highlighted in past drilling. The main zone of interest lies along strike of a near-surface deposit of 5.3 million tonnes averaging 3.1 grams gold per tonne. The resource, calculated in mid-2001, is based on a cutoff grade of 1.71 grams.

Past results from the targeted zones include 13 metres running north of 2 grams and 44 metres carrying just over a gram. The gold is hosted by a granodiorite similar to the one hosting the deposit.

The drilling is budgeted at $250,000, which will be covered internally. Golden Goose expects to release its 2001 financial results in mid-May.
