Only one body of note was encountered: a near-vertical kimberlite dyke cut by two holes spaced more than 2.6 km apart. Both intercepts represent a true width of about 20 metres. Based on airborne geophysics and topographic expression, the dyke is believed to extend for more than 5 km.
A 2.8-kg sample taken from an outcropping section of the dyke in 1999 failed to return any microdiamonds. The two drill intercepts represent a much larger sample of about 175 kg. Microdiamond results are not expected until early 2002.
The area held under licences by the joint venture covers 1,589 sq. km. Citation holds a 33.86% interest in the partnership, whereas BHP Billiton has 55.46%, leaving Cantex with 10.68%. BHP Billiton acquired its interest in the joint venture through the takeover of Dia Met Minerals.
