The resource estimate is based on results from sectional drilling in the Anjing Hitam and Base Camp zones, which are in the southern section of the 3.5-km-long prospect.
International Annax has an 80% interest in the Dairi project. Indonesian government-owned Aneka Tambang, its joint-venture partner, holds the remainder. Aneka can elect to increase its interest to 30% within 30 days of the completion of a prefeasibility study by paying 15% of the total costs incurred to that date. The Dairi project comprises a seventh-generation contract-of-work covering 220 sq. km and a Kuasa Pertambanggan (land permit) of 136 sq. km.
Based on 24 diamond drill holes along an 800-metre length of the Anjing Hitam zone, the indicated resource is estimated to be 7.5 million tonnes grading 16.7% zinc and 10.3% lead, plus 14 grams silver per tonne. An additional 2.5 million tonnes grading 11.3% zinc, 6.8% lead and 13 grams silver are categorized as inferred.
The Anjing Hitam zone remains open along strike to the north and south, as well as downdip to the east.
An inferred resource at the Base Camp zone, 100 metres north of Anjing Hitam, is pegged at 600,000 tonnes grading 6.3% zinc, 3.7% lead and 4 grams silver. The estimate is based on four drill holes covering sections 10400 North and 10500 North. Intersections were drilled on 50-to-100-metre centres.
Core samples were sent to Intertek Testing Services laboratory in Jakarta, and check assays for three holes were sent to Amdel’s laboratory in Adelaide, Australia.
Overall, mineralization on the Sopokomil horizon consists of sedex-style stratiform pyrite, sphalerite and galena massive sulphides hosted within a silty carbonaceous shale. Additional, lower-grade zinc mineralization has been intersected in adjacent dolomitic carbonate horizons.
Mineralization at Anjing Hitam is hosted in a 30-to-140-metre-thick carbonaceous shale-and-siltstone sequence that strikes northwest and dips 35-60 to the northeast. The mineralized beds appear to flatten out at depth.
Australian-listed Herald Resources holds a 71% interest in International Annax.
