Disappointed by results from a 10-hole drill program on the Crowsnest gold property, near Fernie, B.C., partners
Only two holes returned anomalous gold intercepts.
Hole 3, drilled to a depth of 102.4 metres, displayed anomalous gold values over a 46.2-metre interval that graded up to 330 parts per billion in moderately altered syenite intrusions and up to 200 ppb in weakly altered carbonate rocks.
Hole 8 intersected anomalous mineralization over the whole core length (65.7 metres), with a peak value of 215 ppb.
The program was designed to test targets in an area that is believed to be the source of gold-bearing syenite and syenite-breccia boulders. (Previous exploration revealed that the boulders assayed up to 18 oz. gold per ton.)
All 10 holes in the recent program intersected altered syenite intrusions, which previously were not known to exist. The company believes these intrusions represent a series of stacked intrusive sills emplaced into a thick package of carbonate sediments. Several phases of intrusion are evident, as are events of multiple alteration. Drilling indicates these intrusions occur over an area measuring 800 by 600 metres. Extensive zones of silicification, pyritation and sericitization, as well as skarn development, have been observed in the carbonate rocks.
International Curator stands to earn a 75% interest in the property from Eastfield by funding exploration over six years.
