Dome Mine, a division of Placer Dome North America, is an underground and open pit gold mining operation located within the City of Timmins, Ontario. The Mine has been in operation since 1910 and is producing over 300,000 ounces of gold annually. The mill processes approximately 4.2 million tons of ore annually, of which 3.0 million tons are supplied by the open pit and the remainder by the underground operations.
Dome Mine is seeking applications for the challenging position of:
Maintenance Planner
You will report to the Plant Superintendent and be responsible for coordinating planning functions for all crews for preventative and predictive maintenance. This includes underground and open pit mobile, and the crushing and mill areas. You will review P.M.s on an ongoing basis to ensure that the system is current and that trade time is optimized to ensure target availability is met at minimum maintenance cost. Additionally, you will develop historical records of repetitive work, bills of materials, material kits, and statistical records. Supervising the planning assistant and providing temporary supervision for maintenance crews will also fall within your professional domain.
The ideal candidate will be a certified tradesman (electrical or mechanical), however, engineers or engineering technologists are encouraged to apply. You must have five years’ planning experience in an industrial setting (mining experience preferred). You must be proficient in the use of integrated maintenance/materials management software, project planning, spreadsheet and word processing software. Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques and their application would be an asset. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are a must.
