An option deal will enable Westward Explorations (wwe-v) to earn from Cameco (CCO-T) a 51% interest in the Los Caballos property in Argentina.
Cameco identified Los Caballos, which lies near the Chilean border in San Juan province, as a potential gold target following Landsat (satellite) remote sensing analysis. The property encompasses a Tertiary-aged caldera complex in which northwesterly striking fractures intersect dacite volcanic rocks.
Westward, a subsidiary of Windarra Minerals (WRA-T), plans to explore an area of brecciation and hydrothermal alteration with a strike length of 4 km and a width of 100-500 metres. The first phase of work will include geological mapping and geochemical sampling of bedrock and slope debris.
