The Atomic Energy Control Board (AECB) has decided to defer final approval of the construction of the JEB tailings management facility at the McClean Lake uranium project in northern Saskatchewan.
In making the announcement, the AECB cited various construction deficiencies. The agency says it requires further evidence that the design and specifications meet performance criteria before it will grant final approval.
