NEWS ROUNDUP — Leader, Ariel go separate ways

Juniors Leader Mining (LMN-A) and Ariel Resources (AU-T) have scrapped plans to merge.

The companies, which in May signed a letter-of-intent to amalgamate, blame poor markets for their decision to forgo the deal. Ariel owns three small gold producers in Costa Rica, whereas Leader owns the Knife Lake gold-silver-copper property in northeastern Saskatchewan and a property near the Voisey’s Bay base metal discovery.
