LATIN AMERICA — Maya reports discovery

Grab samples taken by Maya Gold (MAY-A) at its Casas Viejas concession in central Honduras indicate a zone of gold mineralization.

The samples, 30 in all, outlined an area of chlorite schist-hosted mineralization measuring 750 by 150 metres. The average grade was 0.3 gram gold per tonne, and geochemical analysis suggests the prospect may be an epithermal system. Further work, including geologic mapping and soil sampling, will be conducted, and drilling may follow.

The discovery is less than 1 km from, and on trend with, a previously identified zone of gold mineralization.
