A 2,600-metre diamond drilling program is under way at Eastmain Resources’ (ER-T) Clearwater project in the James Bay region of Quebec.
The program is designed to expand the Eau Claire gold deposit and further test the Rosemary copper anomaly.
At Eau Claire, resources within four of 17 veins stand at 800,000 tonnes grading 11.7 grams gold per tonne, and the deposit remains open to the west and at depth.
Immediately west of Eau Claire at the Rosemary anomaly, elevated copper values ranging from 600 to 6000 parts per million were detected in surface soils over a 2-by-2.5-km area. Preliminary drilling on sections spaced 1 km apart intersected wide intervals of low-grade mineralization averaging 0.32% copper over a thickness of 49 metres.
Provincially-owned project-manager Soquem is earning a 50% interest in the project by spending $2 million on exploration, plus $525,000 that will match Eastmain’s previous expenditures.
