Junior Atapa Minerals has begun trading on the Montreal stock exchange under the ticker symbol AML.
The listing was the final requirement for Atapa to receive the remaining $1.56 million in net proceeds from a private placement completed last September. At that time, the company was granted one-half of the $3.1 million in gross proceeds (T.N.M., Oct.6/97); the remaining funds were held in escrow.
Atapa will use the proceeds for corporate purposes and to continue exploration and development work at its Cikidang-Cikotok gold property in western Java, Indonesia. The company holds a 71% interest in the larger Cikotok exploration concession and a 66.5% interest in the Cikidang mining concession, where it is focusing most of its attention. The remaining interest in both concessions is divided between a private Indonesian company and the state-owned mining company Aneka Tambang.
