Partners trench Likasi

Partners Melkior Resources (MKR-M) and Trillion Resources (TLQ-T) have begun to receive assay results from a trenching program on their Likasi property in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The partners are evaluating the Kipese gold-palladium anomaly, which is situated on a 170-metre-long, east-west-striking shear zone with gold, cobalt, platinum and uranium mineralization.

Results from trench 6, which runs north-south, averaged 17.56 grams gold, 1.97 grams palladium and about 0.08 gram platinum per tonne, plus 2.52% cobalt and 0.18% copper.

Average results from trench 10, which runs east-west, include 32.46 grams gold, 1.21 grams palladium, 0.25 gram platinum, 0.64% cobalt and 0.074% copper.

The partners share ownership of the project with state-owned Gecamines, and can earn a 51% interest in any portion of the 2,807-sq.-km property that is brought into production.
