Test results bode well for GeoNova

Metallurgical tests of a 60-kg sample taken from the Discovery deposit of GeoNova Explorations (GNE-M) indicate that potential gold recovery there could reach 97%.

The best method of gold extraction, as determined by consultant Lakefield Research, is whole direct cyanidation, which requires a leaching period of two days.

GeoNova also reports that consumption of cyanide during leaching is low, and that there are higher volumes of carbonates than sulphides, resulting in reduced acid generation.

Resources at the Discovery deposit, situated 45 km north of

Lebel-sur-Quvillon, Que., stand at 2.1 million tonnes grading 5.15 grams gold per tonne. The mineralized zone is more than 800 metres long and 600 metres deep. GeoNova has other projects in Eastern Canada.
