BHP, partner eye Ofi Creek

Edmonton-based Western Pacific Gold (WPI-A) and BHP Minerals have received ministerial approval for their Ofi Creek exploration licence in Papua New Guinea.

Through its subsidiary Magma Mines, Western Pacific can earn a 51% interest in BHP’s Ofi Creek gold-copper porphyry project by spending A$2 million within 27 months. To boost the interest to 80%, the company must spend an additional A$1.5 million within a further 18 months.
