Drilling on the Lynx zone at the Wolverine project in the Yukon has extended the zone 50 metres updip, to the south over a 200-Metre-long area.
The thick, high-grade core of the Lynx zone thins updip to surface and laterally, according to 60-40 partners Westmin Resources (WMI-T) and Atna Resources (ATN-T).
The joint venture has completed the initial 12 holes of a 50-To-60-hole program. To date, the following assays have been reported:
* Hole 74 returned 6 metres grading 1.93 grams gold and 399 grams silver per ton, plus 2.56% copper, 2.36% lead and 15.64% zinc.
* Hole 76 intersected 4 metres of 1 gram gold, 305 grams silver, 1.14% copper, 1.06% lead and 10.62% zinc.
* Hole 77 returned 1.2 metres of 2.36 grams gold, 612 grams silver, 1.37% copper, 3.22% lead and 17.43% zinc.
* Hole 80 returned 2.2 metres of 1.17 grams gold, 478 grams silver, 1.56% copper, 2.94% lead and 15.2% zinc.
This year’s program, which includes 17,000 metres of drilling, is budgeted at $3.8 million.
Based on previous drilling, the Wolverine is believed to have a resource of 5.3 million tonnes grading 1.8 grams gold, 359 grams silver, 1.4% copper 1.5% lead and 13% zinc.
Meanwhile, drilling has begun on the Puck property, to the southeast, to test geological and lithogeochemical results from last year’s drilling.
