Eden Roc drills oxide zone in Africa

Toronto-based Eden Roc Mineral (EDN-T) has found gold mineralization in a trenched and drilled oxide zone in Ivory Coast. The permit is held by Somiaf, which, in turn, is owned 68% by operator Eden Roc and 32% by the Ivorian government agency Sodemi.

The best drill results were 23 metres grading 10.3 grams gold per tonne in hole 13, and 20 metres of 13.3 grams in hole 22. No depth intervals for the intersections were available, though the company says drilling reached depths of 60 metres.

Trenching produced gold values of up to 6.2 grams over 46 metres in one section, and 12.2 grams over 2 metres in another.

The oxide zone has been traced over a strike length of 400 metres and to a depth of 60 metres. The zone remains open in all directions. A second oxide zone has also been discovered, and is being followed up with similar trenching and drilling.
