In Burkina Faso, partners Channel Resources (CHU-V) and Solomon Resources (SRB-V) have begun the first phase of reverse-circulation (RC) drilling on their Bombore project.
The work is focused on an anomaly that consists of a 14-km-long “deformation corridor,” exhibiting gold-in-soil geochemistry of greater than 100 parts per billion over widths of up to 1.5 km.
The corridor is underlain by ultramafic, mafic and felsic meta-intrusives and their hydrothermally altered equivalents.
Previous drilling encountered 18 metres grading 6.17 grams gold, 26 metres of 1.48 grams, and 14 metres of 2.59 grams.
The initial 5,000 metres of RC drilling, lasting through to March, will consist of some 50 holes averaging 100 metres in length. After results from this phase of work are compiled, 5,000 metres will be drilled between April and June.
The 2-phase program is being funded by Solomon, at a budget of $1.3 million.
The company can earn a 45% working interest in Bombore and two other permits from Channel by spending $2.5 million on exploration. Channel is operating the program.
