Three diamond fragments weighing 0.25 carat have been recovered from a 25-ton bulk sample taken in British Columbia by Quest International Resources (QIX-T).
That sample, which was taken from the Ice property near Elkford, is part of a larger 95-ton bulk sample comprised of 30-ton samples taken from three kimberlite pipes. A 5-ton sample was taken from a kimberlite dyke exposed in a road cut. Processing of the remaining 70 tons continues.
To date, five pipes have been identified on the property.
In related news, Quest has optioned up to 70% of its Honduran Zopilote gold property to Echo Bay Mines (ECO-T). Zopilote contains an estimated resource of 3.2 million tons grading 0.049 oz. gold per ton.
In order to earn a 60% interest, Echo Bay must spend US$5.4 million over four years. Upon earn-in, Echo Bay can purchase another 10% for US$3 million.
The Zopilote property is one of nine properties Quest holds in Honduras.
